İngilizcede Yes-No sorusu yapmak için tek yapmanız gereken yardımcı fiili cümlenin başına getirmektir. Bu yardımcı fiiller şunlardır:
be (am,is,are), have/has/had, will, would, can, could, shall, should, may, might ve must
Örnek bazı cümleler:
Olumlu cümle: The taxi is here. Ann has arrived. You can play.
Soru cümlesi: Is the taxi here? Has Ann arrived? Can you play?

Eğer olumlu cümlede bir yardımcı fiil yok ise, özneden önce do/does/did yardımcı fiilleri cümlenin başına getirilir. Fiiller de yalın yani mastar halde (to olmadan) kullanılır. -s almış ise -s kaldırılır, fiil 2. halde kullanılmış ise 1. hale çevrilir.
Olumlu cümle: I need a visa.
Soru cümlesi: Do I need visa?
Olumlu cümle: John wants to go home.
Soru cümlesi: Does John want to go home?
